  1. 1

    Arrival & walkthrough

Your engineer arrives, introduces the team, and walks you through the day. Dust sheets go down, work area is protected, and any last-minute questions get answered.

  2. 2

Gas & water isolated · system drained

Gas supply is safely turned off at the meter. Mains water is isolated and the old system drained down. Heating off for the rest of the day from this point — fill a kettle and a few water bottles before we start.

  3. 3

Old boiler removed · pipework prepped

We disconnect and remove your old boiler, take it out of the property, and prepare the new pipework, flue and condensate connections.

  4. 4

    New boiler installed

New boiler mounted, all connections made — gas, water, flue, condensate, electrical. Tightness-tested as we go.

  5. 5

System refilled · powerflush · MagnaClean fitted

Water back on. System is refilled, hot-flushed and dosed with inhibitor. A MagnaClean magnetic filter is fitted to protect the new boiler. Water-off time is around 1–2 hours total.

  6. 6

    Commissioning & gas-tightness test

Gas back on. First fire-up, gas analyser readings taken, all controls and thermostats calibrated. Every safety check ticked off the manufacturer checklist.

  7. 7

    Walkthrough · paperwork · brew

We show you how to use the boiler and thermostat, hand over the manuals, complete your Gas Safety Certificate and Building Compliance paperwork, and register your warranty before we leave. Kettle on optional, but encouraged.

Quick prep

A few small things to do before we arrive

Five quick bits that make installation day smoother for everyone.

  • Clear a 1-metre space around the existing boiler and the new location (if different).
  • Fill a kettle, a couple of water bottles and any pots you’ll need — water will be off for ~1–2 hours.
  • Boil a flask of hot water if you’ll want a brew during the heating-off period.
  • If you have pets or small children, plan for them to be in another room — there will be tools, dust sheets and the occasional power tool.
  • Park access — ideally we can park within 10–15 metres of the front door to carry the boiler in safely.

P.S. A brew is always welcome — but if you can't, we'll bring our own kettle.

Boiler Installation — FAQs

Common questions about boiler installation.

Honest answers from our Gas Safe registered Lancashire engineers. Can't see your question? Get in touch.

How much does a new boiler cost in Burnley?

+

Our fixed-price boiler installs start from £1,550 for a Main combi (great for smaller homes), with the most popular Baxi 800 around £2,250 and a top-tier Worcester Bosch 8000 from £2,800. Every quote includes the boiler, fitting, system flush, old-boiler removal, Gas Safety Certificate and Building Compliance — VAT included, no hidden extras.

How long does a boiler installation take?

+

A like-for-like combi swap is usually completed in a single working day (8am–4pm). Conversions (e.g. system → combi) or a relocation can take 1–2 days. We aim to leave you with hot water and heating the same evening.

Can you install my new boiler tomorrow?

+

In most cases, yes. Book a free fixed-price quote before 3pm and — depending on engineer availability and parts in stock — we can usually fit your new boiler the very next day across Burnley, Padiham, Nelson, Colne and surrounding postcodes.

What boiler warranty do I get?

+

Up to 12 years on Worcester Bosch, 10 years on Baxi 800, and 5 years on Main — all manufacturer-backed and registered for you on the day. Keep the boiler annually serviced and the warranty stays valid for the full term.

Do you remove my old boiler?

+

Yes. Old boiler removal, safe disposal and a full system flush are included in every fixed-price install — you do not pay extra.

Are you Gas Safe registered?

+

Every Gas Tech engineer is Gas Safe registered (legally required to work on gas appliances in the UK). We carry our ID on every visit and you can verify us on the Gas Safe Register.
