Modern gas fires are far more efficient than the old radiant fires and back-boiler units still found in many Lancashire terraces — glass-fronted models reach 80–90% efficiency compared with around 20–50% for a traditional open-fronted fire. The most important part of any install is the flue: every fire we fit is surveyed and smoke/spillage tested so fumes go up the chimney, not into your lounge.

Can I have a gas fire if I do not have a chimney?

Yes. Balanced-flue gas fires vent directly through an outside wall, and some flueless (catalytic) fires need no flue at all, just the correct ventilation. We will survey your home and recommend what is allowed.
How much does gas fire installation cost?

Every home is different — the type of fire, your chimney or flue, and whether an old fire or back boiler needs removing all affect the price. We do a free survey and give you a fixed price before any work starts.
Can you remove my back boiler at the same time?

Yes. We regularly remove old back-boiler units from behind gas fires, fit a modern combi boiler elsewhere in the home and install a new gas fire or open up the fireplace.
Will you test my chimney?

Every fire we fit gets a flue survey, smoke test and spillage test. If the chimney needs sweeping, lining or repair we will tell you before anything is connected.
